Fundraising

The only source of financial support for scholarship awards given to students and other activities carried out by SJEC is contributions from Engineers, businesses, contractors, individuals, and allied professionals.

General Scholarship Fund

In 2024, over $15,795 was contributed toward the Scholarship Fund. Following is a list of contributors:

Wilson/Sanguinetti Endowment Fund Sponsors

The Wilson/Sanguinetti Endowment was established in the honor and memory of Doug Wilson and Al Sanguinetti. Both of these men played a major role in the Engineering community in Stockton. The purpose of the fund is to serve as a perpetual source of scholarships. The Endowment is still in the building phase.

Joseph Reyes Memorial Scholarship

The Joseph Reyes Scholarship was established in 2023 by Knife River Construction in memory of Joseph Reyes, Engineer of the Year in 2020, to support students pursuing engineering careers. This scholarship recognizes Reyes' contributions to the field and provides financial assistance to deserving students who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential.

UOP Paul M. Sensibaugh Endowment Fund Sponsors

The Paul M. Sensibaugh Endowment was established through the University Of Pacific to fund scholarships at the University. The fund is still in the building phase.

      The only source of financial support for scholarship awards given to students and the other activities carried out by SJEC is contributions from Engineering Societies, Engineering firms, engineers, businesses, contractors, individuals, and allied professionals.

     The San Joaquin Engineers Council is a 501 C(3) Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation organized under the Federal and State Laws.
Our California Corporation No. is 1998216 and our California Registry of Charitable Trust No. is 105475. Contributions to the San Joaquin Engineers Council may be tax deductible, check .with your tax professional for deductibility questions

     Following is a list of the various funds into which one may contribute:

General Scholarship Fund

     The General Scholarship Fund provides six to eight  scholarships annually.  The current (2019) value of a scholarship is  $2,000.  Additionally, other activities of SJEC such as Math Counts competitions and Delta College Engineering Tech Day activities are funded from the General Scholarship Fund

     There are four classes of General Fund sponsors:
               Angel - A donation of $1,250 or more,
               Sponsor - A donation of $700 to $1,249,
               Benefactor - A donation of $400 to $699,
               Patron - A donation of $200-$399,
               Friend - donation of $1-$199.

Wilson/Sanguinetti Endowment

     The Wilson/Sanguinetti Endowment was established 2001 to honor the memories of Doug Wilson and Albert Sanguinetti. Both of these men were Civil Engineers and played a major role in the Engineering community in Stockton. The purpose of the Endowment is to serve as a perpetual source of funds scholarships. The Endowment is still in the building phase and all funds contributed will be reinvested until the proceeds of the Fund can provide for one scholarship..

Wilson/Sanguinetti Scholarship

     The Wilson/Sanguinetti scholarship provides one scholarship in the names of Wilson and Sanguinetti until the Endowment reaches  it's target earnings..

Robert Skaggs Memorial Scholarship

     The Robert Skaggs Memorial scholarship was established by the Skaggs Family Trust in honor of Robert Skaggs a Geotechnical Engineer.

Joseph Reyes Memorial Scholarship

     The Joseph Reyes Memorial scholarship was established by the Knife River Construction Co. in honor of Joseph Reyes a Civil Engineer.

UOP Paul M. Sensibaugh Endowment

     The Paul M. Sensibaugh Endowment was established by the University Of Pacific to fund scholarships at the University. This fund is managed and administered by the University of the Pacific.  SJEC collects funds for the Paul M. Sensibaugh Endowment during it fund raising drive in January-March of each year.  The selection of individuals and amounts awarded is made by Paul Sensibaugh and the University of Pacific.
